The DEENPU rod backoff tool (also called back off tong or sucker rod backoff tool) is designed to work together with hydraulic power tongs as the ideal tool for completing making up and breaking out of sucker rod connections in oil field well servicing operations. While the power tong provides the primary torque, the backoff tool grips and reacts the opposing rod joint, allowing fast, safe removal and re-tightening of sucker rod threads without pipe wrenches or chain tongs.

How It Works
Slide the backoff tool onto the sucker rod and position it against the joint to be backed off. Tighten the two cam bolts so the tool grips the rod upset firmly. The power tong then makes up or breaks out the upper connection while the backoff tool reacts the torque on the lower joint — no second wrench, no chain, and no damage to the rod body. Loosen the bolts, slide the tool off, and move to the next joint.
