Product Overview

DEENPU drill collars are manufactured from ultrasonically tested bars of chrome-molybdenum alloy steel (AISI 4145H modified) and are available in all sizes and connections per API Spec 7 and API RP 7G, in Range 2 lengths.

Bars are fully heat treated to 285–341 BHN with a minimum Charpy impact value of 40 ft-lb at operating temperature, giving the toughness needed for high torque and compressive loading. Spiral, hard-banding and non-magnetic variants cover special BHA requirements.

Q: Why 4145H modified instead of standard 4145H?

A: The modified grade has tighter hardenability band control, giving uniform mechanical properties through the bar section.

A: Yes, non-magnetic drill collars for MWD/LWD BHAs are available alongside spiral and hard-banded variants.
